Responsibilities
The Public Works Department serves the community by providing high-quality water for industrial, fire protection, and domestic use. The Department also provides wastewater transportation, collection, and treatment to protect public health and the environment.
Services
Services provided include:
- Operation of the Water Filtration Plant, two city wells, five water towers, and 150 miles of distribution piping
- Operation of two wastewater treatment plants, five lift stations, and 120 miles of collection piping
- Maintenance and upkeep of 130 miles of street, drainage ditches, sidewalks, and alleys
